Berg Schlossberg GG Grand Cru Riesling, Weingut Leitz 2018

£35.00

Gooseberry – Pineapple – Flint

The impressive Berg Schlossberg vineyard (meaning ‘Castle Mountain’) lies in the bend of the Rhine River, west of Rüdesheim. Steeper than anywhere else in Rheingau, the vine rows climb a 45% gradient from 120 to 160 metres above sea level and are braced by mighty vineyard walls. This vineyard gets plenty of sunshine, being south-facing and getting reflections from the river. The soils are red slate and quartzite which are well drained and store warmth well. The name stems from Schloss Ehrenfels, a spectacular 13th-century castle ruin overlooking the vines. Bottled at 12.5% ABV.

Please consume responsibly.
